Charlie Rangel Steps Down

Ready Patriots - Wed, 03/03/2010 - 10:43

Finally, after a laundry list of ethical violations that would have landed any non-congressperson in jail or, at a minimum with frozen assets from the IRS, Rangel steps down from the position of the powerful House Ways and Means Chairman.  When Nancy Pelosi told us that she was going to run the most ethical house in the history of the planet, she surely must have considered that Charlie Rangel might be a blemish?

Too many high ranking politicians and bureaucrats don’t seem to be able to figure out their own taxes.  How is it that we turn over so much responsibility of managing this country’s affairs to people who either are too incompetent to manage their own affairs properly or too corrupt to manage their affairs according to the rules that they demand each one of us comply?

Charlie Rangel, resign your seat in congress and go home in shame.

Trijicon ACOGs and Bible Verse

Ready Patriots - Thu, 01/21/2010 - 15:13

It’s been reported that Trijicon ACOGs have references to Bible verses on them. This is causing much consternation to people who must have a lot of time to kill. The argument is that these verses may offend Muslim Terrorists. These people with so much time on their hands are calling for the military to stop using the Trijicon ACOGs.

It would be a sad situation if the military bows to such political correctness.  The ACOG, which stands for Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight, is a fine piece of hardware.  They are durable, compact, and lightweight.  They have very good light transmission properties for the size objective lens.

The ACOGs come with multiple reticles and generally have a fiber optic illuminated point for targeting in low-light situations.  If you’ve ever watched stock footage of Marines fighting in Afghanistan, you’ve probably seen the Trijicon ACOG in action.

In the future, the military can work out with Trijicon on whether they leave the markings on these Rifle Scopes.  In the short term, it would be bad for our troops if they were directed to stop using them.

Oh, and watch your spelling.  A lot of people mistakenly call it Trigicon but that ain’t right.

Trijicon ACOGs with Bible Verses

Tactical Warehouse - Tue, 01/19/2010 - 22:19
Word got out today that references to verses from the Holy Bible are being imprinted on Trijicon ACOGs and there seems to be a few people whose panties are getting in a wad over it.  First, the military has a right to pick and choose which hardware they use.  They may specify what is imprinted [...]

Time to change the Mags

Ready Patriots - Wed, 01/13/2010 - 21:12

If you store your magazines loaded, and let’s face it, if your magazine aren’t loaded, you’re not ready, then the springs will begin to show fatigue over time. The best cure for this is to keep sets of magazines. Keep some loaded and some some empty. Then alternate them. A safe trick is to use the holedays as reminders on when to alternate. My personal method is to use the holidays and alternate the mags on New Years and the Fourth of July.

I didn’t get around to changing my mags on New Years but I did have a chance to do it yesterday. And emptying the mags is my favorite part. Went to the range and filled and emptied them several times.

South Carolina: Georgetown School Board talks about guns

Tactical Warehouse - Thu, 01/07/2010 - 16:07
The Georgetown County School Board will have major issues to consider when it meets next including the district’s concealed weapons ban. The school district has attracted state’s Attorney General Henry McMaster’s attention regarding its ban of concealed weapons on all school property, which is more stringent than state law. McMaster released an opinion in December that the [...]
